If I were to attend a university and apy for financial aid, how much do they usually give? How is it distributed? Does it last all 4 years?

I am a young female looking for a career change. I live in New Brunswick. I have been around trucks my whole life and think that I want to give it a try. My boyfriend is wiling to team drive with me so that I can get experience. But I am wondering if there are any financial aids that will help me do this? Will unemployment pay for this?

How do financial aid offices know you’re sending in real tax returns when they ask for verification?
When a student gets selected for verification, what’s to stop someone from submitting a fake tax return? The financial aid offices don’t have access to IRS information. Also, if someone is a single parent and earns about $50,000 a year will financial aid be drastically reduced if the income was $11,000 the previous year?

I enrolled in an International Beauty School to learn cosmetology. It is around $23,000. I can only go if I can get financial aid and help to pay for it. The school helps you apply for pell grans but other than that, that is it. Where can I get other grants to help? Any information is appreciated.

I have a friend who has got herself in some financial trouble. She told me about it yesterday so I told her to bring her bills over to me and I would create a financial plan for her. The thing is after looking at all of her bills…Tons of credit card bills…She has to spend more than she makes. I have never seen anyone in this bad of shape so I do not know what to tell her. I know there are some debt consolidation places, but I am not exactly sure how those work. Are they a scam? Do they charge a reasonable price? Any other advice anyone has would be appreciated. She is so far behind I am not sure what to say at this point.
