HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING DONATIONS FOR A BENEFIT?
My niece had a aneurysm in Oct. She is at home now, but will need a lot of therapy. We are trying to raise money for her for anything she may need for school or therapy. I was planning on having a raffle at the benefit.
How do I go about getting donations for the raffle I plan on having at the benefit.

Unless you are a registered nonprofit it is illegal to solicit donations or operate a raffle. Suggest you ask your Church or some nonprofit to sponsor this fund raising. Otherwise even if people just gave you money toward medical bills this would have to be claimed as regular income taxes.
