I thought the financial crisis originated with banks/mortgage lenders, so why is the entire economy now in trouble? It looks like now the retail sector and car industry is in trouble, for example. Why is this?

I regularly donate blood and have been told I’m a good candidate for platelet donation…besides taking longer how different does it feel than donating blood? Just interested in hearing people’s various experiences as I’m sure each donation is unique…
