I’m broke and I need cash, also, I heard that there aren’t enough donors with my blood type, so do I really get paid to give blood? Also, I hear men can donate semen, is there something in females I can donate for cash or for a good cause:)

I donated blood on October 1st. The local swim team is having a blood drive fundraiser on the 18th and I’d like to donate. What is the worst that could happen? Also is there anything I can eat or do to help my body recover from the last donation faster? Thanks!

Today, I donated blood for the first time and now I feel strange … for lack of a better word. My tongue feels like it’s too big for my mouth, I have a miserable sore throat, I’m congested, and my head is throbbing. Was i getting sick and it’s just a coincidence that the symptoms emerged after I gave blood, or is this a direct effect of donating?

I was wondering if “they” government or anybody takes a sample of my DNA when I donate blood? Do they take a sample and then enter it in the database? I have been donating blood in New York City for about 12 years now. (just incase location matters) I am not a criminal and have nothing to hide. But I do not feel comfortable knowing that they would take my DNA sample without my permission and enter it into the database.

My husband and I were discussing cord blood banking and came across the idea of donating the blood for use where it is already needed instead of keeping it for personal use that might never be needed. Does anyone know where we can find info on this? Has anyone else done this?
