I have some used clothes I’m getting rid of, and I’m thinking charities get so many new clothes donated that they would have no use for used clothes, would this be right? I’m trying to decide if I should throw them out or bother to donate them somewhere.

Currently I donate around 25 dollars a year to about 10 different charities (25 dollars per charity, ends up being around 250 a year, sometimes I give a little more or less depending on my finances at the time). I got to thinking about this the other day. Is it better to donate a little to many different charities, or to donate a more significant amount to one or two charities.

If you trusted a particular charity or organization that was really effective in helping people, but strongly disagreed, on moral grounds, with one thing on their agenda, would you still support it financially?
I’m thinking of things like anti-abortion vs pro-choice, or to ban or not stem cell research. If it were a religious group, would you base your response on the fact that they had just one belief that you strongly
disgreed with?

My brother told this lady to aske me for money instead of him because his comment was, “Well, she’s stupid enough to give her money to charity & give it to any & everybody!”

He felt that way just because I donated $5 for the Revlon Walk for the Breast Cancer for women. I don’t have much income, & that was all I was able to donate. But he acted like I donated MILLIONS.
