I donated blood two weeks ago, but I really want to start donating plasma to raise money for my trip to Florence. I called in and they said I had to wait 56 days, but I don’t think that’s right because plasma is replenished 48 hours after donation. What are the ricks of donating anyway?

I am trying to find info on how to approach senators, politicians, mayor, governor etc, about donations. Everyone keeps directing me to websites that offer grants, and I am unclear whether grants and donations are the same in this particular case.

Today at around 9 am I donated whole blood. I know I have to wait 56 days before donating another whole blood donation. But how long do I need to wait before donating platelets? How long do I need to wait to donate plasma? Also, I have another question: What is needed more: plasma or platelets? (I would donate double red blood cells but I am too short and don’t weigh enough).

Yesterday, I saw many signs & boxes about donating food & school supplies to places, like Africa & Honduras. But do other countries do that for us when our country is struggling? I understand that those are poor countries, but I’m just curious.
People cared more about the tsunami in Asia than they cared abut Hurricanes Katrina & Rita. Why is that?

I want to offer free services on my website, but I also want to include an optional donate button. Is it legal? Should the donations be taxed?
