I need help putting together a financial plan. I spoke with a CFP who charges on a per-project basis. Her fee would be between $3500-$4500 (depending on how simple or complicated it is) to put together a detailed financial plan which would take into account my long-term savings and investment goals. Is this fee reasonable?

I’ve applied to Miami University, Michigan, Notre Dame, and California. I’ve received a great financial aid package from Miami, but Michigan only offered me a federal subsidized loan($3500 a year) and being an out of state student, it’s rather expensive. I have yet to hear whether I was admitted to ND and Cal, but should I go ahead and call Michigan to see if they are willing to give me a comparable aid package?
I guess I should rephrase; sorry about that. All of the money I’m being given from Miami is strictly scholarships. Therefore, I was told at one point that once I receive all of the financial info, and I don’t get the best deal from my 1st choice, then I can say what other schools are offering me. I did read an article about a girl who applied to Cal and Harvard and she really wanted to go to Harvard. However, Cal gave her the better deal financially speaking and Harvard matched that amount.

I went from making 350k a year with my x to barely skimming with a heavy load of cc debt. Is there hope? I need to consult with someone who understands how to relieve debt and possibly help me to get back on the good financial train? I may be owed tax monie’s. I’m in a slump.

Should I try to get a job when the government will know how much I make, when at the same time I want as much financial aid as possible? Should that be a reason why not to get a job?

I usually do but now others are telling me it is a waste of time. The clothes will be mixed up with others and may sit around for awhile. What is your opinion ? They were washed before I stored them in my attic. Some of them though have been there for quite awhile. Thank you.

Hello,

I know that most Americans are very tolerable, especially with regards to immigrants. What I would like to know is if more would be welcomed considering the financial problems; banks being closed, foreclosures and declining employment opportunities?

Or, should they rather wait for some time, if yes, approximately for how long?

This would help take a rational decision for some to be immigrants.

Thanks and regards
I never said it would be illegal! All I am asking about is about the timing.

Is the word immigrant commonly considered illegal immigrant?

This is for a youth program that our church began this year. the program involves creating a theater production using marching drums and video and showing it around our community. The message that we promote is positive and although we are a church, anyone can join without having to attend our church. Our program serves the community by performing and by assisting with community projects. We want to be able to attract youth and teach them about music and theater without charging a fee and also by teaching them the importance of helping our community by serving and raising money for other non profit groups (red cross, local homeless shelter, etc…) We want the community to benefit from this but we have no money and no experience in raising it either. We would like to have the support of our local businesses so that we may purchase our own equipment (drums, electronics, etc..) and to be able to demonstrate that our youth can contribute through the use of their talents and abilities

I’m 21 and just got my first full-time, salaried job at a national credit card company. Up to this point I have only worked part-time or seasonally in retail jobs where I did not have financial benefits like stock purchase options or retirement accounts or that sort of thing, so I have no idea what I need to take advantage of. Can anyone offer tips or point me to resources online that will help someone who is just starting their career? Thanks!
