I am searching for organizations that will donate furniture and other furnishings for my apt. I am on public assistance and need additional help furnishing my new apt. I live in New York City. I could also use organizations that have furniture at a nominal price.

I currently live in New Jersey and am planning on going to one of the CUNY colleges in New York. I am extremly short on money and will need lots of help, so im wondering if anyone knows anything about the financial aid program or any other program that can help me pay for college. =] thanxx.

Myself and a few classmates are interested in collecting donations for environmental causes. Would we need to have a permit to solicit donations on the streets of New York City?
