I’ve gotten 3 laptops in my lifetime and all 3 have cost me problems in less than a year. One’s a Compaq, another is an Averatec, and my latest one is an Alienware.

Here’s some advice that I would like to give people on laptops.

1. Look for a laptop from a company where you know that you can get good support.

2. Get a warranty that’s over 1 year.

3. Always back up your files to an external source. Don’t ever think your hard drive is not going to fail.

4. Don’t put your laptop on your bed. This causes the power jack to become loose.

5. Know how to get to your BIOS and work in it.

6. Always know where your manual is.

7. Know a good computer support forum.

8. Research about any sort of recalls dealing with the type of laptop you get.

9. Know a good computer repair store.

10. Save some money on the side, just incase your laptop decides to go bad one day and your warranty may not cover the fix.

11. If your laptop continues to give you problems after you get it fix, then just sell it.
